Kevin Kobelka is the Executive Director for Hockey Calgary where he has led this organization since 2013. In this role he oversees the development and management of over 14,000 youth hockey players who participate in the different streams of hockey within Calgary. During his time at Hockey Calgary he has been instrumental in driving change within the organization. New initiatives include, a focus on the First Shift Program, a new House League Program, regionalizing the atom division and implementing more non-body checking divisions at the bantam and midget levels.
Kevin is no stranger to the hockey world having been actively involved in the Calgary area in one form or another for the past 25 years. He has had the opportunity to be work with Okotoks Minor Hockey, Hockey Alberta, and Hockey Canada in numerous different roles. He has played and coached at every level from Initiation to the University level, and he is extremely passionate about hockey and numerous other minor sports that take place in the Calgary area.
Prior to his involvement with Hockey Calgary Kevin spent 22 years in the consumer packaged goods industry, working for such large multi-national organizations such as Campbell Soup, Unilever and Danone.
Kevin is an active member of the Comrie’s Sports Equipment Bank Board of Directors, and currently sits as the Vice-Chair. He is passionate about sports, and ensuring that all kids have an opportunity to play.
